The role of energy audits in unlocking energy saving measures

Are you interested in helping SMEs save energy and carbon? Or how energy and carbon audits for SMEs could be made more useful and effective to drive action?

Accounting for 99.9% of the business population, SMEs play a crucial role in the UK’s journey to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Energy audits are at the centre of most programmes to help SMEs cut carbon: they range, from initial assessments using online carbon calculators to detailed investment grade audits of specific business processes.

Energy Saving Trust is hosting an online webinar on the role of energy audits to unlock energy and carbon saving measures in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This webinar will discuss energy audit standards currently in use and their potential development. Participants will be encouraged to present and share their ideas; the discussion will be informed by the learnings from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland about the ways they incentivise uptake of audits among SMEs. We will also present the preliminary results from Energy Saving Trust’s latest research on behavioural factors influencing SMEs to invest in energy efficient measures.
